Marketers have always talked about the 5 P’s of marketing – there can be more of course! -
Product, Pricing, Promotion, Positioning, Publicity. This can be a marketing checklist, a quick way to make sure you have done your job, a way to describe of how you are going to go about getting people to buy.
Marketing isn’t always guaranteed to work, but if you’ve got all your P’s right, you are more likely to succeed. Something has happened though. The P’s just aren’t enough. What was amazing has now become common, worst than common – it has become boring.
Let’s find a new P. The essence is it must be remarkable. Let’s say remarkable starts with a P. Something remarkable is worth talking about, worth noticing, new, interesting. Remarkable marketing is the art of building something worth noticing, so give your clients something to notice! Understand that if your offering itself isn’t remarkable, it’s invisible.
